ial results. We look for the safest and most affordable way to raise funds
for this fiscal quarter or this fiscal year. Meanwhile we must carefully
navigate shifting priorities and manage an overload of information.\n\nIn
this environment\, it is easy to forget an important truth: that we can’
t just focus on raising money to support the most urgent goal. We need to
recharge\, to discover new ways of thinking\, to support each other\, and
collaborate together to elevate the profession.\n\nWe need to raise the wo
rk.\n\nLike any industry\, it is important that fundraisers take time to i
nvest in ourselves and step up our game\, because even the slightest impro
vement can lead to the biggest breakthrough. And unlike most industries\,
when we get better at our work we can really improve lives and make the wo
rld a better place. That’s why Congress 2019 is about those choices we m
ake – both big and small – to be better.\n\nWe call it “Raising the
Work” – the combination of passion\, grit\, and intelligence we need t
o raise the quality of our practice to meet the challenges of fundraising
